ByMolly is a small independent studio based in Sligo, Ireland, operated by Molly Budd.

Molly finds inspiration in everyday life to create accessories, and clothes that she finds useful and enjoyable for herself—and hopefully for others, too. She likes to make and sell products that she genuinely loves using, creating everything with a zero-waste mindset.

For as long as she can remember, Molly has loved fashioning clothes out of whatever she could get her hands on—be it a towel after a shower or a blanket off her bed when she was supposed to be asleep. At around 11 years old, Molly received her first sewing machine as a present from her parents, and since then she hasnt stopped sewing. At 14, Molly joined the local youth theatre in Sligo, where her love for drama and costume was nurtured by the director and costume designer. After designing and making costumes for one of the youth theatre shows, Molly was invited to be a costume assistant for a local costume designer on a small film production. This opened Molly’s eyes to the possibility of a career as a costume designer, and so she decided to enroll in a fashion and textile design course in Limerick. After this course, Molly worked on many different film and tv productions in Ireland and the UK.

After many years of working between film and the service industry and sewing at home for fun, Molly decided to find a way to devote more time to the sewing machine and work for herself to create her own success as an independent business owner—something that felt like it had been brewing for a long time. And so, ByMolly was created in 2026.

There is no way of knowing what may come from Molly in the future and what ByMolly will evolve into, but at its core there will always be that little girl who loves making something that made her feel beautiful and elegant.
